~Pandemic reflection~

I was in 5th grade when it all started. I remember being so excited to not have to go to school for a week or two. Then those two weeks turned into three. Then 4. Then 8. soon enough I realized we were not going to school anymore. We would go to work with my dad everyday and do our school work. Months passed and finally It was the last day of school. All the teachers at my elementary school got into their cars and drove around the neighborhoods to say goodbye. I couldn’t believe I have just spent the last 2 1/2 months doing online school. My 5th grade teacher was no longer going to be attending my elementary school so we said our goodbyes and I did in fact cry after that. Me and my friend were on a call after and we were both so scared to go to middle school, because school is hard and I had spent my whole life being bullied. The summer comes and I’m feeling extremely lonely. My best friend of 11 years had replaced me. I no longer felt like I had friends. Finally the summer is over and I get my schedule. I set out my clothes and my mask for the first day of school. I knew no one and couldn’t recognize anyone either with the masks. I had no friends in my classes, but then here come 4th period and my best friend in the whole wide world of like 8 years is in my class. We hug and are so relieved we had classes together. We ended up have 4 classes together. After a while of being in school I got used to the masks. The last day of school comes as if I was only in school for a week. People were aloud to not wear masks. I continued to wear mine though because I had people in my family who were high risk. Now here I am at dpms and I’m still wearing a mask.  ._. My old middle school

HOW-TO

Lets be honest, we all feel horrible about ourselves sometimes. So this is a how-to blog on how to be more accepting and forgiving for yourself. First of all, when you realize you getting upset about something you did or how you look, think of all the things you love about yourself. I know thats what everyone probably says. But I promise it works. Its what my therapist taught me. It does take a little bit of time but once it starts to work, it sticks into your brain. Second, if you just dwelling on your past mistakes distract yourself! Do something you love. Go outside. Doing things you love and going outside release dopamine which is a chemical in your brain that releases happy feelings.

Something I’ve also noticed that sometimes you feel the way you feel because your afraid of what other think of you. So something to help with that is to just stop caring. It can be so scary you feel like crying but just push through it. People will love you for who you are if you just be yourself. Like always though if this doesn’t work you can always talk to a trusted friend, parent, sibling, and/or counselor. You could even talk to a trusted teacher.

BOOK REVIEW

Love reading about wars? How people feel? Disastrous events? If so, you’ll love “The War that Saved my Life” This story takes place in Europe during World War Ⅱ. It’s about this girl who’s foot is walk wards and has to crawl everyone because first of all, she cant walk on it because it hurts too bad. Second, her disapproves of her getting a surgery to fix it. She lives with her brother and abusive mom. Her mom Lets her brother do almost anything, but she has to do all the cleaning and all of the work. There are bomb threats in her area so they have to evacuate. Her mom whats to leave her to die and just take her bother. So when her mom is at work, her and her brother run away and get taken into a lovely home with a woman who does not like children but ends up to be ok with the two kids. The girl sees that the woman has a horse and instantly falls in love. A little bit after her mom finds out who they were living with and were taken back to her abusive mom. That night there was an attack and a bomb was dropped over her town. They all survive and her mom ends up letting them live with the lady. There are two books so I could possibly be mixing them up. But if you like the first book and want to read the next it is called “The War I Finally Won”

A Little Bit About Me

My name is Heidi! My favorite subject in school is English and that’s why I joined this class because I love to write. Something I will NEVER eat again is Red Robin food. When I was 7 we went to eat there and I ended up getting food poisoning. If I could live in any fictional world, I would live in a Fairy world because everything always looks so beautiful and I love nature. (sometimes) My biggest pet peeve is probably loud chewing. Especially when someone chews with their mouth open and they are smacking their lips, and if I could live anywhere in the world it would probably be rat island, disappointment island, or Germany. (they are all real places. Search them up) Anyways! That’s a little bit about me!
